The full review

The Behmor 1600 Plus Drum Roaster also features five customizable roast profile settings, efficient cooling and chaff removal and removable chaff tray and drum for easy cleaning of the interior. The Behmor 1600 is not intended to roast Vienna, French, Italian or darker beans.

Even roasting is controlled by a variable speed rotating drum and thermostatically controlled quartz roasting elements.

This is the only home coffee bean roaster that does 1 lb of greens beans. The Behmor 1600 plus does an excellent job for the price. The 1st time you use it, the aroma will be amazing when it is cooling.

The Bottom Line

To sum up, we give this product our absolute highest recommendation, with the caveat that you have to be the type of person who wishes to get involved in the roasting process. This is not at all a “set it and forget it” type of apparatus; indeed, it has an auto-shutdown feature that kills your roast after 75% of the allotted time for your charge size has passed, to prevent you from burning your house down if you were to turn on the oven and walk away.

Coffee beans are combustible, so you need to be observing them not only to produce a great roast but also for safety.

So, if you love coffee, are hands-on, have discipline and passion in more or less equal measures, and are willing to learn a bit to be able to drink the freshest coffee you’ll ever taste, get this roaster today!
